Description
Confocal micrograph of nucleolin (in red) at the surface of the cell. From Professor Ara Hovanessian, research manager in the French National Center for Scientific Research (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, CNRS), Descartes university, Paris, France, inventor of the molecule HB-19. This molecule is an inhibitor of tumor cell growth and tumor angiogenesis by blocking nucleolin, a protein involved in cell multiplication. This new anti-cancer therapy shows no tissue toxicity, contrary to many chemotherapy treatments. Here, observation of the nucleolin (in red) at the surface of the cells with a confocal microscope.
