#060214-A, "The Flags up at the Red Roof Inn" 8 x 8 piece of collage art with a 2” white mat to the final size of 12 x 12 ready for you to slide into a nice 12 x 12 frame.
Materials Used: 140lb. Watercolor paper, polymer medium, acrylics, stained tissue paper with reinforcement rings sandwiched between, painted Kraft paper, Printed Deli Sheets, painted drawing paper, acrylics glazing, wax pastel crayons, sealed with a layer of UV satin varnished.
Meaning behind the art: I had intentions to go light and use white papers or lighter ones. But I can’t help that I’m influenced by the strong green color all around me in my environment. I had wanted to use green white and black but as I was in the process of assembling the papers I dropped that idea too. So I thought I need a splash of red with the strong green and before I know it become a Red Roof piece. More abstract then my other ones but I’m happy with it. About Laura Lein-Svencner
Bio Laura Lein-Svencner was raised in Downers Grove IL not far from her grandfather’s farm and resides now Darien Illinois for the past 30 years. She’s continued with her personal studies in drawing, printmaking, sculpture, papermaking and collage. Seeking inspiration from one artist to another, Laura has pursued her love of paper; this steady pace of exploration has led her to become a member of many local and international collage groups. She also co-founded the Midwest Collage Society which exhibits throughout the Midwest region. Her works has won many awards and most recently the 27th Annual Juried Exhibit with the National Collage Society.
