I made this image last fall while isolating myself from Covid. The two trees against the overcast sky demanded to be photographed in black and white. As Ansel Adams once remarked, "Black and white IS the color of photography.
I created this panorama using Adobe Lightroom to merge two exposures created with my Canon 60D and a normal Canon lens at a focal length of 55mm. I applied a subtle digital selenium tone to the print to enhance the power of the storm clouds that threatened to create a storm but did not let go the whole time I was photographing on the Illinois prairie.
