I spotted this snowy egret standing patiently on a small island in the Fox River at Fabyan Park, a Kane County Park. I assumed the bird was patiently waiting for a frog for breakfast. Moments after I made this exposure, the egret spread its wings and flew to another small island in the river where it stood patiently but too far for me to photograph.

I created this image using my iPhone 14 Pro camera set to a slightly wide angle equivalent focal length of 34mm.

I processed the original exposure using Adobe Photoshop 2023 CC to adjust the saturation and color. I then used the Photoshop Filter Silver Efex Pro 3 to adjust the image to a selenium-toned black-and-white image.
